DELTA launches Nordic IoT Centre
Internet of Things (IoT) is a rapidly growing market and already today billions of IoT products are connected. But how do companies best connect to the IoT wave, and which advantages and disadvantages must be taken into account if you want to succeed with your IoT solution? This was the focus during DELTA’s Technology day 30 August, where companies such as Kamstrup, Oticon, and CBS gave practical advice and shared their IoT experience. In this edition of DELTA Agenda you can read more about what happened on Technology day. If you would like competent feedback about your company’s IoT idea, contact the Nordic IoT Centre which DELTA has just launched. Read more about the centre in the press release to the right in this newsletter.

DELTA’s next large event is the Physics of Failure conference held on 31 October 2016. You can already now register using the link to the right in this newsletter.

Drone testing for the IoT at DELTA
Even though drone technology is a fairly new technology and new product types emerge every day, this is an area that already is governed by a list of rules and regulations. In fact, there are specific requirements that drones must comply with before they are allowed to be used.
Standards, policy and technical development
Through a number of major organisations, technical experts are working together to describe the EMC and radio requirements, and test specifications for electronic equipment. The requirements in the standards have an impact on the products that are being developed.
Internet of Things - why and how?
Internet of Things (IoT) is one of our time’s greatest technological trends. In the electronics and IT sectors, everyone is talking about developing new smart devices, which with an Internet connection can communicate with each other, make our daily lives easier and provide us with more and better information about the world we live in – but how does it work? What makes IoT function, and why is it so difficult to get started?
IoT and data security
The term Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 have been used often in recent years and big things are being promised by the solutions. From refrigerators that can order items when they are about to run out, to monitoring of production lines and goods transportation. There are many benefits to gain, both financially and societally. All of the systems must be reliable, in other words they must function almost 100% all of the time.
Batteryless electronics – Advice about how to get started with realising Energy Harvesting
With the spread of more and more smart products, the Internet of Things and wearable gadgets of all shapes and sizes, the need for changing and charging batteries will only become greater and greater. Growing number of batteries, which is bad for the user experience and worse for the environment. This is why a lot of people are looking at batteryless solutions, where energy is harvested from the surrounding environment through light, motion, temperature gradients or radio frequencies.
Technology day introduced the Nordic IoT Centre
The Internet of Things (IoT) is about creating innovative products based on platforms together with an interdisciplinary network of specialist companies. At DELTA’s Technology day, visitors were shown how to get started with their own IoT product.
The Wireless Club at DELTA now also comprises IoT
The Wireless Club at DELTA has now been extended to the IoT & Wireless Club. In the future, the club will keep you updated with the latest knowledge within both wireless technology and IoT. It will be expanded to 8 metings per year.

The first IoT & Wireless Club meeting will focus on components and modules. There is also a brief update on the new radio equipment directive (RUD / RED).

… the majority of today’s ships use electronic sea charts? But if the colour on the monitor changes just a little bit, ship risks being run aground. That cannot happen, and DELTA helps leading firms to ensure it does not happen.
